"Authorities crack down on TV puppet"
Agro, the furry star on the Seven Network's "Agro's Cartoon Connection",
was given a stern warning by the Australian Broadcasting Authority
yesterday.
Agro and his program hosts were found to have broken the commercial
television industry code.
The ABA cautioned Agro for promoting potentially dangerous conduct among
young viewers and conducting promotions and competitions that were not
adequately distinguished as advertising material.
This is not the first time Agro has been hauled before the ABA. New rules
on "host selling" and guidelines on 0055 telephone numbers in programs and
commercials directed at children were prompted by an ABA investigation
into "Agro's Cartoon Connection".
